Challenge
The brief was to convey the restrained authority of a global venture firm using typography and whitespace alone — across two languages whose sentences run to very different lengths.
Solution
An editorial system — ivory ground, ink-navy type, serif headlines — with a full EN/KO switch instead of side-by-side text, and a single narrative scroll from investment thesis to contact.
Results
A spec document became a live, fully bilingual site in two days — proof that a brand site with global polish doesn't require a quarter-long engagement.

A VC homepage is a pitch for trust
Founders size up a venture firm from its website before they ever send an email. That makes a VC brand site less an introduction than a compressed argument: too decorative and it reads as lightweight; too plain and it disappears. Meridian aims at the narrow target in between — restrained authority, carried by type and space rather than graphics.
Designing for two line lengths
English is the primary language; a toggle in the header switches copy, navigation, and calls to action entirely into Korean — a full swap rather than parallel columns, so each audience reads a page composed for its own rhythm. We tuned the layout to hold its balance as sentence lengths shift between the two languages, and the scroll runs as one narrative: hero, investment philosophy, portfolio, approach, contact.
Why two days was enough
This is a self-initiated studio project: we set the brief, then held ourselves to production standards — a defined editorial system, complete bilingual coverage, and a deployed, working result. With a client, the same site runs two to three weeks, because your review rounds are part of the build. The method is what carries over: see the tone, structure, and bilingual handling as a working site first, and judge it with your own eyes.
Want a brand site judged the same way — as a working screen, not a deck?
